30s, 40s, and 50s screen sirens inspired the spring/summer collections of many designers at LA Fashion Week, according to Mercury News. Accentuating the feminine physique with classic tailoring, nipped waists and waist-to-floor pleats, designers harkened back to the golden days of Hollywood with dresses in taffeta, silk and chiffon embellished with jewels. The newly popular show Mad Men seemed to have influenced the clothes, too– structured tops and full skirts seemed appropriate for the curvy working girls of the 60s-inspired show.
