The weather is getting hotter and so are the models of Ocean Model Group. This week we have picked Chicago Model Kim King as our model of the week. She is smart, gorgeous, and very experienced in the modeling industry. We interviewed this beautiful Chicago model and tried to dig up all the dirt we could. Read her interview for all the of the juicy details.
When did you get involved in the modeling industry and why?
I started modeling when I was in college to make some extra cash. I just kinda fell into it and started networking with other models. I received a Bachelor’s in Fashion Design and since I’ve graduated I continued to model since it allows for uniques experiences, has a flexible schedule, and of course I like the fashion industry. It is my way to still be a part of the fashion industry since becoming a designer didn’t work out for me. I would like to continue to model for as long as I can.
Modeling is a competitive industry, how do you set yourself apart from other models?
I am intelligent, outgoing, confident and very personable. I believe all of those assets make me memorable and allows for me to stand out from everyone else.
Explain your first photo shoot.
I did a shoot for a small boutique in joliet. It was interesting and an eye opening experience. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing!
Any accomplishments in the modeling industry yet? If not what are your goals?
I enjoy doing print- I’ve done printwork for SPRI fitness and Pivot Point to name a few. I eventually would like to get into more commercial print.
If modeling doesn’t work out what is your next choice?
Well I’m also a Realtor right now and plan to one day run a stable. (Yes I’ve always loved horses)
Where can we find you on a typical weekend? What is your favorite Chicago bar/club?
I usually just hang out with my boyfriend at his house. If we do go out, we’ll go out to eat somewhere nice, go to the movies, or once in a while go to the bars in Naperville.
Drink of choice?
Absolute Peach and Cranberry juice.
Favorite karaoke song?
Maybe… Don’t Stop Believing by Journey
Relationship status?
I’ve been with my boyfriend for 6 years.
Most memorable pick up line?
Here I’ll give you a cheesy one I find memorable: “Bond. James Bond.” (what???)
Turn offs?
People who can’t relax and are wound too tight for their own good.
Where do you shop the most?
TJ Maxx and Marshalls
Who is your celebrity crush and why?
Honestly I don’t have and kind of crush but I do think for instance Pierce Brosnan is handsome.
Any hobbies?
Yes, I horseback ride and am saving up to buy one of my own.
Ever hooked up with anyone famous?
No…
What is your least favorite body part and why?
Probably my hips-I don’t have that hourglass figure as much as I’d like
