In honor of Thanksgiving, this week our modeling agency is sharing the things we are thankful, including our favorite fashion designers. (Yes, we are thankful for each other, friends, family etc., but this is fun for the Holiday.) These designers are men and women with great style, successful careers and most importantly, they like to push the boundaries of fashion.
Our first designer icon is Diane Von Furstenberg. She is best known for her wrap dresses, which make women look great no matter their size. These dresses are sleek and sophisticated; and they come in an array of colors, prints, and styles - there is something to suit every woman and every occasion.
Our next favorite designer is Narciso Rodriguez - he creates clothing with a sharper look and a defined structure; many of his silhouettes are almost warrior-like but with a softer side that keeps it feminine, bringing to mind the sugar and spice dichotomy.
Next is Marc Jacobs; this fall, he mixed ladylike silhouettes with metallic touches. By pairing sleek blouses with metallic high waisted skirts and topping them off with a stylish hat, he gave his models the “ladies-who-lunch” look with an edgy flourish.
Fourth is the ever-fabulous Victoria Beckham. Thanks to her signature style, she has become an global fashion icon and is known for making the most outrageous outfits look amazing. Women love to copy her style, including her always unique and creative hair cuts. She has her own line called Denim by Victoria which is loved by millions because her jeans fit a women’s figure perfectly and bring out the best in her curves. Look out for more to come from Ms. Beckham including handbags and more fragrances - she is definitely one to watch.
Our last and one of our absolute favorite designers is simply a legend - the incomparable Coco Chanel. She raised the bar for women’s style as well as the hemline on their skirts! She started a new way of thinking about clothing for women and pushed fashion forward. Women who wore Chanel looked ready for a challenge and ready to face the world - and that is exactly what they did. You can still see much of Coco Chanel’s influence from in today’s clothing.
