Though many people think models just need to stand still (or walk) and look pretty, the models at our Chicago modeling agency know better. Finally, the press is also addressing the physical demands of being a model.

Glamour is reporting that high fashion strutter Abbey Lee fainted as she exited the runway at the Alexander McQueen show during Paris Fashion Week. Just like Elizabeth Swann in Pirates of the Caribbean, Abbey passed out because of an over-constrictive corset. In addition to long hours and strict diets, are models now also expected to sacrifice their bodies to missized clothing?

If you thought female models were the only ones expected to be seriously thin, you were mistaken. The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the UK has now restricted overly thin male models from runways as well as too skinny women. The good news is that the British government is looking out for its fashion employees, despite gender; the bad news is that it has to!

What’s the best thing we’ve heard about Paris Fashion Week, for models and consumers alike? This reviewer at the Times Online thinks that Paris designers started to showcase more realistic designs, in both size and wearability, and she commends them for it. We commend them, too!
