Our Modeling’s Agencies style icon of the week is Twiggy. An inspiration to models and aspiring models everywhere, at the tender age of sixteen Twiggy became the world’s first international supermodel. She was best known for her long legs, slender girlish body, and big eyes topped off with major lashes, which she accented with tons of mascara and even false lashes on occasion. During the sixties, Twiggy sparked a style revolution with her short boyish hair, along with short skirts and dresses. She represented freedom and a new era in fashion which is still reflected in today’s styles.

Ocean Models (and really, all girls) can recreate the Twiggy look with a slight twist using today’s styles. Twiggy was a fan of swing coats worn over mod little minidresses so her look is ideal for your next holiday party. If your hair doesn’t already close to her short bob, try wearing it pulled it back with a side part into a pony tail. Add some darker eye makeup, preferably a smoky grayish color on your eyes, and add some serious mascara and false eyelashes. Next, pair a high neck sweater dress with nylons or some cute patterned tights. Add some flats or knee high boots, a cute peacoat, and you are ready to go, swinging sixties style. Twiggy was all about breaking the boundries and standing out in the crowd, so if you an Ocean model or aspiring model, don’t be afraid to make your style stand out.
