Last weekend Ocean Model Group had the opportunity to staff a huge street team for FirstDibz.com. If you were in Wrigleyville over the weekend I am sure that you noticed a large group of beautiful Chicago models roaming around the stadium. I am proud to say that those were Ocean Models! This September, one of the world’s largest trade shows will be arriving in Chicago–IMTS. The International Manufacturing and Technology show is home to over 1,000 exhibitors at McCormick place every two years, and is responsible for bringing together thousands of attendees. When I started my internship at Ocean Model Group I had no idea how much time it takes to run a Chicago modeling agency. When I started I was shown the ins and outs of a modeling agency. Over the past couple months I have learned so much about the industry and how much time and work goes into each and everything single job the agency takes. I think one of the hardest parts for me to understand was that our job is in the hands of our models. You really learn who the girls that you can depend on and the ones who need a little extra push to get the job done.
This was such a great internship; I had a great time and really loved the people that I worked with. They took time to show me how an Chicago modeling agency should be ran and also brought me up to a whole new level of understanding the fashion business. This last Friday was the first night that Ocean Model Group held its first model search at Republic. In one corner we had body painting going on and then the girls would head over to another corner where they could get photos taken. Being one of the first Chicago Modeling Agencies in the area to do an event like this, the turnout was great! We plan on holding Studio Republic every Friday night in the month of June. This is a great way to get involved in a Chicago Modeling Agency and win great prizes. Starting this week the public will be able to vote for new girls on the Republic website and then Friday night we will announce who wins a contract with Ocean Model Group. So come out and support your favorite Chicago Modeling agency, Ocean Model Group.
