We know the ladies and gentlemen of our modeling agency are prepped for tradeshows and promotional events, but how should you behave on the set of a fashion or advertising shoot? To enhance what you’ve learned from your own experiences in front of the camera, here are some suggestions from the photographer’s side of things.

1) Remember you might not be the star of the shoot. The clothes you wear or the good you are promoting may be the center of the image! Learn to show off what you’re supposed to, while also presenting yourself properly.

2) Though the product might not be in the shot, keep in mind the picture still may be used to promote it. Try to portray the message of the shoot in your body and in your mindset, whether you’re posing with a particular good or not.

3) Photographers have a variety of tactics to draw models out of their shells. If you can tell your photographer has a plan, go with the flow!

4) A photographer, though an artist, is liable to the client, too. Work as a team with the photographer to impress the client, and maybe you’ll both get booked again!
